Named Mortgage Broker of the Game in Phoenix

On March 21, 2026, UWM recognized me as Mortgage Broker of the Game during the Phoenix Suns vs. Milwaukee Bucks game at Mortgage Matchup Center in downtown Phoenix. Here's the longer story, and what it means if you need a mortgage.

  • Who: Paige Martinez, owner of Home Loans by Paige, a mortgage brokerage in Phoenix. NMLS #214634.
  • What: Recognized by UWM as Mortgage Broker of the Game.
  • When and where: March 21, 2026, Phoenix Suns vs. Milwaukee Bucks, Mortgage Matchup Center, downtown Phoenix.

A proud night. The same work the next morning.

I'm proud of that night. It doesn't change how I handle your loan. If you heard my name and you need a mortgage, call or text (602) 448-4470.

The short version lives on my Broker of the Game page. This is the longer story.

Basketball and mortgages under one roof

Most people don't think about mortgages on game night. They think about the scoreboard and the crowd. In Phoenix, basketball and home loans share a building name: the downtown arena is the Mortgage Matchup Center. It's a fun coincidence for a mortgage broker.

My work is Arizona home loans. I compare conventional, FHA, VA, and the other programs that fit the house you want. If the quote you already have is the better deal, I tell you. The recognition was one great night. If you'd like to check my license before we talk, it's all on my licenses and citations page.

What happens when you call

A buyer getting ready to make an offer needs a documented pre-approval, a payment they can live with, and a clear list of documents. A homeowner thinking about a refinance needs to know if a new loan helps after closing costs. A family moving within Arizona needs someone to explain taxes, insurance, and the rules for the city on the listing.

You don't have to learn the vocabulary before you call. Rates, points, closing costs, pre-approval, debt-to-income: I'll explain each one as it comes up. Just tell me two things. Are you buying or refinancing? And what monthly payment can you live with?

From there, I shop your loan with more than one lender and compare the program, the mortgage insurance, and the cash to close. The work I'm proudest of happens on a regular weekday, when a condo rule or a missing gift letter threatens a closing date and we fix it in time.

Heard my name and wondered what I do? I work with first-time buyers, move-up buyers, Veterans, self-employed borrowers, and homeowners who want a second look at their loan.

Getting ready still matters

Whoever you work with, don't waive an inspection, skip your VA Certificate of Eligibility (the document that shows your VA home loan benefit), or treat a prequalification as a pre-approval. A prequalification is an estimate based on what you tell me. A pre-approval means I've reviewed your documents. Preparation still matters, whether you're making an offer in Mesa or refinancing the home you already own.

Every Arizona city has its own questions

A buyer in central Phoenix may have different questions than someone looking in Scottsdale, Glendale, Mesa, Tempe, Chandler, Gilbert, or Peoria. Some buyers need help with cash to close. Some are relocating. Some are self-employed. Some already own a home and want to know if refinancing makes sense after costs.

We'll talk through your payment, your program, your documents, and whether now is the right time.

If you heard my name that night

You're in the right place. What I offer is the same thing every client gets: one person from the first call to closing day.

Congratulations notes are kind. Thank you. If you need a mortgage, the next step is simple. Tell me if you're buying or refinancing and the monthly payment you're comfortable with. Already have a quote? Bring it for a second opinion. Want to know more about me first? Start with Meet Paige.
